Super Bowl 50. Wow has the NFL came a long way. No this isn’t super bowl “L” but it’s the big 50, 5-0.

For this big matchup we have Experience vs Youth, A record D vs A record O, and 2 masterminds face off.

But as much fun as this game will be, we will have to say goodbye to Football till the summer when preseason starts, and then we’re on to Houston for #51, “LI”…

Now let’s get to the game:

The reason why this game will be one to remember is the stakes. Broncos QB Peyton Manning is playing in his 4th Super Bowl, with his 4th HC. This last one for him was abysmal with a blowout loss to Seattle. This may be the sheriff’s ‘last rodeo’ as he told Bill Belicheck but he’s focused on the game, and to even up his Super Bowl record to 2-2.

On the other hand, Carolina had a season to remember, Super Bowl win or lose. Led by MVP as of last night, Cam Newton and his dabbing, the Panthers lead the league with a 15-1 record taking everything by storm. They have 1 more game to finish and that can start a legacy for Carolina…

Player Match Ups:

QB- Cam Newton vs Peyton Manning, two completely different styles of play and attitude. But in the end, two great QB’s facing off.

RB- Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart had his best season yet while Denver’s backfield was a mess in a season where they expected to go run first. We’ll see what magic CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman can do.

WR- Manning always had his receivers who are now Hall of Fame bound like Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, and this time he has 2 weapons in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Look for Sanders to be heavily involved for a spark or a check down option with Thomas heavily covered by CB Josh Norman.
With Carolina, the WR story has been a big thing after losing 2nd year wideout Kelvin Benjamin for the year in the preseason. But Cam Newton has made it out with veteran speedster Ted Ginn Jr. , rookie out of Michigan Devin Funchess, and Philly Brown. Remember, consider the rest of the NFL lucky not to have Kelvin back.

TE-The Broncos have veteran TE Owen Daniels who has followed HC Gary Kubiak through his coaching. Manning had Daniels heavily involved in the AFC championship. Meanwhile, Carolina has All-Pro TE Greg Olsen who’s been huge for Carolina this season.

Pass Rush- The Broncos come out with veteran DE DeMarcus Ware, Derek Wolfe and Von Miller to attack Cam tonight, while the Panthers bring veteran Jared Allen and Luke Kuechly to make Manning uncomfortable.

DB’s- Led by shut down CB Josh Norman, the Panthers shut down WR’s this season. But the Broncos are led by Db’s Aquib Talib and Chris Harris Jr.

HC- The coaching matchup consists of 1st year Broncos HC Gary Kubiak who has played as a player and kept Denver in the season through adversity. They also bring DC Wade Phillips who won AC of the year last night. The Panthers have this year’s coach of the year in 1x Super Bowl champ Ron Rivera. Rivera is hard-core and will fight for tonight.

Now for the predictions:
Broncos win 24-20 on an incredible defensive effort and Peyton Manning giving it his all throwing for 177 YDS and 2 TD’s. The Panthers fall short despite a commanding game by Cam Newton who scores a bomb to Ted Ginn Jr. And runs one in. Manning will retire on stage with his MVP trophy into the sunset like owner John Elway…
